A fresh face on the Kapamilya scene and yet JM de Guzman landed on a lead role in the remake of the 1997 teleserye hit, "Mula sa Puso". This made some rumors to rise that a gay benefactor is helping the actor in his career and securing a lot of TV projects for him.

In a press conference, JM de Guzman denied the rumors saying it took some hardwork on his part to be where he is now right now. He added that he worked hard to establish his name and will not use anybody to his advantage.

The 'new Rico Yan' in the 2011 remake revealed that he started as early as six years old in the industr.

During that time, wala parin nangyayari kaya narealize ko na medyo may kulang," he said.

JM added that he also tried theater.

The Kapamilya actor added that he is not the type of person that uses someone for money and fame.

JM is also thankful to ABS-CBN for giving him the biggest break of his career so far. He is likewise grateful to his fans for their support.
